With Summit County’s latest public health order extending Level Red restrictions through January 19, the Town of Silverthorne has worked with Summit County Public Health and Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment to implement the 5 Star certified business variance program in our community. The 5 Star program requires businesses to implement safety measures beyond what is required by public health orders and guidelines to slow the spread of COVID-19. By adding additional safety measures, these certified businesses are able to expand operations.

In Summit County, the state has approved the 5 Star program for restaurants, which will enable restaurants who meet the criteria to operate during Level Red status at Level Orange restrictions, or 25% capacity.

In Silverthorne, the following restaurants are 5 Star certified:

It is important to note that in Level Red, businesses are only eligible for the 5 Star certification program if the county has had a 2 week sustained decrease in incidence, percent positivity, and hospitalizations. We must all continue to work together to follow public health guidelines and protocols to keep our numbers down so that we can continue operating the 5 Star program.

Silverthorne restaurants interested in the 5 Star program may contact Kim Jardim, Executive Assistant to the Town Manager, at or (970) 262-7305.
