Find Where Art Meets Adventure in Silverthorne!

Published July 27, 2022

Find where art meets adventure and explore Silverthorne, Colorado this summer! Surrounded by wilderness areas and hundreds of miles of trails, Silverthorne offers endless opportunities for hiking, biking, fishing, paddleboarding and more. After a day outdoors, enjoy a show from the Lake Dillon Theatre Company, explore the public art around town or experience live music at a cultural event.

Day 1

Start your morning with a cup of joe and a specialty biscuit at one of Silverthorne’s newest eateries, House of Vibes Coffee & Curio. While waiting for your morning beverage of choice, check out the curios and local art that make House of Vibes one of the coolest new hang outs in town.

Take in the Blue River with a guided fly-fishing trip from Cutthroat Anglers, which backs right up to the Blue’s famous waters.

Enjoy lunch at Bluebird Market, Summit County’s only food hall, and enjoy everything from burgers to harvest bowls to ice cream, empanadas and everything in between. After lunch, grab your bikes and ride down the stunningly scenic and family-friendly Blue River Trail, a 3.5 mile paved path with plenty of spots to stop and enjoy the view.

In the evening, attend one of Silverthorne’s signature First Friday community events. From arts and food to music and fun, First Fridays showcase the community’s talented makers, artisans and performers.

Cap off your evening with a locally crafted brew from Angry James Brewery and enjoy the mountain views from the patio.

Day 2

Fill up on a southwestern inspired breakfast at Kucu Tequila Bistro before a day filled with fun and adventure!

Silverthorne is surrounded by the Gore Range mountains, the White River National Forest, and the Eagles Nest Wilderness and Ptarmigan Wilderness areas, making it an ideal destination to hit the trail. Explore a new path with trail options like Mahan LakeAcorn Creek or Harrigan Creek

After hiking, order some of the best tacos around from Mercado La Perla. Be sure to browse the market shelves while you wait.

Spend your afternoon exploring a Silverthorne park or playing at the Silverthorne Recreation Center. Soak in the views while kids explore the playgrounds at Rainbow Park, or relax sore muscles at the Silverthorne Recreation Center aquatics area, featuring several pools and an indoor hot tub and sauna.

Treat yourself to something special at dinner time with handcrafted cocktails and American classics featuring global inspiration from Timberline Craft Kitchen & Cocktails.

After dinner, enjoy a show from the Lake Dillon Theatre Company at the state-of-the-art Silverthorne Performing Arts Center. The Theatre will be performing Mala from July 29 to August 21 and The Revolutionists from September 2 to 25.

Day 3

A trip through Silverthorne isn’t complete without pastries from Blue Moon Bakery. Stop by for breakfast and pick up items for a picnic lunch at North Pond Park later in the day.

After breakfast, rent a paddleboard from Colorado Adventure Guides and test your balance on the waters of North Pond Park.

If a Sunday Art Stroll is happening (Sunday, August 21 from noon to 3 p.m.), enjoy a stroll along the Blue River trail on select Sunday afternoons from noon to 3 p.m. Experience pop-up artists and musicians while taking in the sounds and sights of the Blue River. If a Sunday Art Stroll isn’t being held, take an art walk around town to see the various public art displays. Don’t miss the fox mural outside the Silverthorne Performing Arts Center or Silverthorne’s newest mural at Rainbow Park, which celebrates our connection to water.

Cap off your trip to Silverthorne with dinner at Eclectic Bar & Grill, one of Silverthorne’s newest local favorites!
