Cycle Silverthorne Month in June = Fun for All
Published May 17, 2018
Even if your summer is packed with hiking boots, paddles or barbecue tongs instead of spandex and skinny tires, the upcoming Cycle Silverthorne Month has something to offer you. Featuring concerts, happy hours, yoga and even big wheel races for adults, June (Cycle Silverthorne Month) is packed with incentives to get you outside and moving.
Here’s a taste of what’s happening:
June 1: First Friday Kickoff Celebration for Cycle Silverthorne Month
Ride your bike to the Silverthorne Performing Arts Center for festivities on the outdoor stage and lawn from 4-7 p.m. The night will feature live music with Shaky Hand String Band as well as bike-themed vendors, art projects and activities. Rumor has it, there will even be an adult big wheel relay race. Plus, Wish for Wheels will be on-site building bicycles for 25 kids in need. Lastly, bike bingo starts—pick up a bingo card and ride your bike to each location on the card throughout the month to get stamps and complete a bingo for prizes.
Mondays in June: Yoga for Cyclists
Every Monday of the month at 7:30 a.m., Silverthorne Recreation Center will offer yoga for cyclists focusing on poses to increase strength and flexibility for riders.
Wednesdays in June: Bike Happy Hours
Every Wednesday in June, different businesses in Silverthorne will host Bike Happy Hour. Ride your bike and get social.
June 12: Share the Road Safety Forum and Open Discussion
Get involved and make the community even better. Join Silverthorne Police Department, road bikers and motorists at 6 p.m. at the Silverthorne Pavilion to discuss sharing the road.
June 27: Bike to Work Day
Take two wheels to work this morning instead of four—it’s bike to work day! Stop by Red Buffalo Coffee and Tea from 7-10 a.m. to snag free coffee and snacks. While you’re there, take advantage of an on-site bike maintenance tent to tune up your wheels.
June 27: Happy Hour at Angry James Brewery
The final bingo event and Cycle Silverthorne Happy Hour is at Angry James from 5-7 p.m. Come drink some tasty brews, enjoy the band and collect your prizes for bingo.
